Lilies are true summer flowers. When you plant the bulbs in the autumn, you enjoy flowering lilies in your border the next spring. But if you didn’t think about this in the autumn, don’t worry! With lilies growing in pots, it’s a simple trick to add colour and power to your terrace at any time! 

Lilies in pots are a striking feature, and certainly in the summer period, many colours and varieties are available. Some have the characteristic pistils while others don’t. Depending on the variety and colour, you can give your terrace or balcony a more exotic or perhaps a more romantic look.

You can plant lilies in a huge pot for a bold touch or in a woven reed basket, for example. If you keep the soil moist, you can enjoy your potted bouquet for two to three weeks.

Once the flowers have finished blooming, you can transfer the bulbs to a spot in the garden. Then you will enjoy these fabulous flowers again next year and for many years thereafter!
